One of the things I offer in my store that I seem to get the most hearts and gets featured a lot in Etsy treasuries are the pinwheel wands and pinwheel cupcake toppers. Pinwheels add a touch of whimsy to any party and are a really trendy party decoration at the moment. I love making pinwheels and my 3 year old loves twirling them. She calls them twirly-whirlies! And here are some pinwheel wands that my daughter loves so much. Each pinwheel has a cute black star-flower in the center and the pinheads are all white. The wingspan is about 8 inches wide and the wand is 12 inches long. They actually spin too!
Large Pinwheel Wands
To make pinwheels you have to have double sided paper. This sounds much easier than it truly is simply because it is hard to find beautiful paper that meets your needs. Most scrapbook paper is printed on only one side. When you do manage to find double sided, you sometimes run into the problem of liking the design on side one of the paper but not caring for side two. For example, you love the pink and yellow stripes on the first side but the reverse has butterflies. Your party theme is lemonade and sunshine. You want yellow and pink. No butterflies. You have to keep looking at more paper. Frustrating.
I think I have found a perfect way to get around this problem. I found the most stunning glitter cardstock. When I saw this, I fell in love. I think these colors are so beautiful and the glitter makes it pop. What do you think?
