Image

Looking for a little something to show your child’s teacher that you appreciate their dedication and hard work? Well, it is teacher appreciation week so this is a great time to send in a gift with your child. I made these chocolate bar wrappers with matching water bottle wrapper and oversized hang tag for my children’s teachers. I decided to go with a more gender neutral color palette this year and used blue and burn orange with a rock star theme. The PDF files are available for FREE download. Click on here to download the PDF files:

FREE Valentine’s Day Printable Chocolate Bar Wrapper, Water Bottle Label and Hangtag for the SWEETEST Teacher or Bus Driver! February 3, 2014

Image

So, Valentine’s Day is coming up and every year my kids like to give chocolate to their lovely teacher. Since my daughter takes the bus to school, we always include our wonderful bus driver in this tradition. Can you believe my six year old is outside to catch the bus at 6:20 a.m. and the bus driver always has a big smile to greet her? Honestly, I feel really lucky that we have such great folks taking care of my children . I’m hope that you feel the same way and I’m happy to share with you the printables that I designed.

Both PDF files are available for free download from Scribd.com. Click here for the teacher one and here for the bus driver one. ****UPDATE: I’ve just found out that Scibd has changed their policies and is now trying to get people to sign up and PAY FOR monthly subscriptions. There is an option for a free subscription but it’s not very clear at all. It is, in my opinion,  totally CRAZY that they are making a profit on items that are intended for FREE distribution. So, I’m putting the files at the end of this blog post. If you have issues, please e-mail me and I’ll e-mail these to you with pleasure. Thanks!!!!

FREE Printable Party Checklist June 6, 2013

A few months ago, when I first started thinking about my children’s upcoming birthday parties, I decided that I should transcribe my checklist in to a cute PDF format so that you guys would have a handy checklist for your parties. I just realized that I never actually published the checklist online and with my daughter’s birthday being around the corner, I decided to make this available for you.

My son’s 3rd birthday was at the end of April and we went with a fun Vintage Train theme at a local train museum and my daughter’s 6th birthday party is going to be on Saturday. Gulp- only one full day left to get the last touches done. Her party is going to be at home and I have to tell you that my stress level with planning her party is significantly lower than my son’s party. Having her party at the house means I have complete control over the decorations and I can get the party table set up a day or two in advance. Plus, I don’t have to transport food, decorations, goody bags, drinks, wipes, flowers, etc to the party location.

So, with only one day left to get ready… what is left on my to do list? Well, I’ve already brought the majority of the party food but after tweaking the menu last night, I’m gonna have to make another run to the grocery store. I’ll also be going to florist and Office Depot later this afternoon to get some more stuff printed such as my tent style food labels for the buffet table. Earlier this afternoon I melted white chocolate and then dipped beautiful ripe strawberry and sweet cherries into this. I love the abundance of summer fruit and when you plan your next party, I highly encourage you take full advantage of the in-season fruit and veggies. Since this is going to be a Japanese themed party (Little Kokeshi Doll to be exact), the girls are going to be making candy sushi so I plan on making the marshmallow treat “sushi rice” this evening once the kiddies are in bed. Tomorrow, I’ll do the really fun party… set out the decorations!!!! And of course, I’ll also be doing the least fun stuff too… scrubbing the kitchen floor, vacuuming, dusting, tidying up, cleaning the bathroom and basically making sure that my house is absolutely spotless.

Enough rambling from me… enjoy this helpful party planning checklist. It’s geared towards a children’s birthday party but truly you could use it as a basis for any event. Following a simple list makes planning any event easier and less stressful. To download simply click on the images below. This free party checklist is perfect for upcoming summer soirees! Having a simple to follow checklist makes event planning organized and stress free. Both lists are identical- I just decided to give you two color options.

Mahalo! FREE chocolate bar wrappers for Teacher Appreciation Day April 30, 2012

Teacher Appreciation Day in the U.S. is celebrated on the first Tuesday of the first full week in May. In 1985, The National PTA established Teacher Appreciation Week as the first full week of May. So, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7th-11th and Teacher Appreciation Day is Tuesday, May 8th. Last year I created a chocolate bar wrapper for my daughter’s preschool teachers. It was bright, fun and gender neutral but aimed at the preschool crowd. This year, my good friend Dory asked me about making a Hawaiian themed chocolate bar wrapper. What a great idea and I am happy to share this year’s wrapper with you guys, too!

Show your kids teachers that they are appreciated. They work hard and have a huge impact on our children’s lives. My mum is a retired teacher as are my in-laws so I know first hand how hard teachers work. So, to all the teachers out there, I want to say: Maholo for all that you do!

To download the free chocolate bar wrapper and the coordinating hang tags, simply go to Script.com! For printing, I recommend using bright white card stock (110 lb is great) and a laser jet printer. If you don’t have a decent printer at home, head over to any print/copy center (such as Office Depot or Staples) and print there. They’ll print these for you on cardstock for about 70 cents. I used Hershey Cookies and Cream chocolate bar but you can use the regular 1.55 ounce sized Hershey bars if you’d prefer. For full details on putting chocolate bar wrappers together, please see my tutorial. I included two hang tag designs so you can choose which one you’d like to use. Once your child writes his or her name on the hang tag, simply attach to your chocolate bar using some ribbon or tulle.

If you are looking for my preschool wrapper from last year, you can download it here:

I think personalized chocolate bar wrappers are the perfect party favor, especially for a child’s birthday or a baby shower. Check out the wrappers available in my Etsy store and if you don’t see what you are looking for, then contact me as I love custom work!

Let me know if you give these to your kids teachers… and don’t forget to LIKE my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/apartystudio

And thank you Dory for the inspiration!

***UPDATE: If you are having issues with the link to download the file, please download Teacher Appreciation  instead of Scribd.com or e-mail me: apartystudio@gmail.com

Valentine’s Day Lollipop Flowers with FREE Printables February 3, 2012

Yesterday, I posted free printables for lollipop butterfly Valentine cards. How adorable are these little butterflies? I think they are so cute and my daughter is super excited about taking these to her preschool for their Valentine’s Day party!

Today, I’d like to share some matching lollipop flowers. My son will be taking these for all the ‘little ladies’ in his preschool class! For this simple project, you’ll just need some lollipops, sharp scissors, card stock (110 lb is perfect) and some glue or a stapler.

So, to put these together. Simply print out the free download on heavy bright white paper or card stock. Then, use your scissors to cut out the flowers and the hearts. Each green heart will be the flower’s leaf. You could have your child write their name on the leaf or the flower. Take your first flower and fold it in half as shown above and then fold it again so that you can snip off the tip. This will create a hole for you to put your lollipop stick through. Unfold your flower and slip in the lollipop stick. Make sure the hole isn’t too big or the paper will not stay at the top of the lollipop stick! If that does happen, you can always add a little bit of tape to the underside to hold it up 🙂

To add the leaf… you have a couple options. Either way though, you need to fold your leaf in half to get a crease down the center. You can either:

1. attach the heart to the lollipop stick and use some glue to hold it togehter

2. fold the heart around the stick (the crease is pressed against the stick) and staple the leaf

I used Tootsie Roll Valentine Pops which I purchased at my local Walmart. They are cherry flavor and have a pink wrapper. I actually got the idea for these flowers and the butterflies from the box! You can download the FREE file from here or just click on the image below.

Let me know if you have any questions and if you make these, let me know how they turn out! We think they are adorable. Remember to like my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter and Pinterest!

Valentine’s Day Butterflies with FREE printables! February 2, 2012

My daughter will be taking Valentine’s Day lollipop butterflies for all her friends at preschool. She is super excited and keeps talking about Valentine’s Day which I think is super sweet since I don’t recall ever being excited about this holiday growing up in England. It just wasn’t a big deal. February in England was just a blah month so I am happy to see her get so excited and have a few fun Valentine’s Day activities planned for the kiddies.

I picked up a box of Valentine lollipops at the grocery store and on the box were the cutest ideas for a craft, to make your own Valentine cards. Check this out:

Doesn’t that look like a great idea! So, I turned on my computer and whipped up some colorful butterflies and flowers. I’ll post the  flowers tomorrow but here are the butterflies, all cut up and ready for their lollipop sticks.

For this simple project, I picked up some wiggly eyes from my local Joanns craft store. They’d run out of sticker ones so unfortunately the ones I got required some glue in order to get them stuck on the lollipops. As always, when crafting, I highly recommend having decent sharp scissors. I absolutely love my EK Success Bee Precision Scissors. Spending $10 may seem ridiculous for a pair of scissors but they are well worth it. They are amazing but I have to keep them hidden because they are seriously sharp and I don’t want either of my kids getting hold of these!

So, to put these together… print out the free download on heavy, bright white paper. 110 lb card stock is ideal. Then, cut out the butterflies. Fold the butterflies in half to create a vertical crease down the middle. Whilst the butterfly is folded, cut the slits (basically, just cut along the grey lines) and the unfold your butterfly. You can now slip the lollipop stick between the slits and if you’d like, you can attach some wiggly eyes!

Of course, I am going to share the butterflies with you! I hope you are able to use these for your children. There are six butterflies on each sheet, along with simple instructions. And, if you are more traditional and prefer pinks and red for Valentine’s Day, then you are in luck since I have a sheet of butterflies in cute pinks and red to share, too! Simply click on either of the pictures below to download the PDF files from Scribd.com

Enjoy and let me know how your Valentine projects came out xxxx

Valentine’s Day FREE Printables January 28, 2012

Happy Valentine’s Day! We’ve got about two weeks to go till the big day! Have you got anything special planned for your kids? I’ll be taking my 21 month old son to a Valentine’s Day social so he can mingle with his little lady friends!!!! My daughter will be in preschool that morning so she’ll take some cute cards for all her classmates. It’s such a fun time.

This week I plan on doing some Valentines Day posts for you to give you some ideas of the great crafts you can make with your kids and hopefully give you some inspiration. I’m gonna kick things off though with a few gorgeous photos from Dyan Witt Photography and some free printables!

Dyan used A Party Studio banner for her photo shoot and a matching ‘mommy’s little heart breaker’ sign. How cute is that? And of course her models are beautiful! Here is a sign that you can print on your home printer and set up your own photoshoot. Just click on any of the photos to be taken to the Scribd page for your free download.

Want a banner of your own for your Valentine? You can download this banner for free! Just print however many sheets that you need, cut into squares, punch holes in the corners and tie together with ribbon! If you need a step-by-step tutorial with photographs, check out this post entry.

I also made matching water bottle wrappers and cupcake toppers.

You can check out more photographs on the Dyan Witt Photography Facebook page. She is currently in Sasebo, Japan but will be moving this Summer to Montgomery, Alabama. She can be contacted at dyanwittphotography@gmail.com and her website is http://www.dyanwittphotography.com

Thanksgiving Coloring Pages November 18, 2011

I love finding fun coloring pages that you can print out at home! These are way easier (and probably cheaper) than buying coloring books, especially if the event is seasonal or a holiday. I received an e-mail today asking about Thanksgiving coloring pages. So, I have scoured the internet and found what I think is a lovely selection for kids of all ages and coloring-in abilities!

Print as many as you need but remember that although it is really fun to color in pictures, kids also love to express their creativity by doing their own drawings. So, remember to also put out some blank sheets of paper for your budding artists.

All these printables are free- just click on the picture! And, if you find others online that you love, please let us all know in the comments section and include the link. Thanks!

Looking for something else or need more coloring pages? Check out this website as well as this site! Or do a search for free printable Thanksgiving coloring pages. As always, I love the selection of coloring pages on the Crayola website.
