Teacher Appreciation Day in the U.S. is celebrated on the first Tuesday of the first full week in May. In 1985, The National PTA established Teacher Appreciation Week as the first full week of May. So, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7th-11th and Teacher Appreciation Day is Tuesday, May 8th. Last year I created a chocolate bar wrapper for my daughter’s preschool teachers. It was bright, fun and gender neutral but aimed at the preschool crowd. This year, my good friend Dory asked me about making a Hawaiian themed chocolate bar wrapper. What a great idea and I am happy to share this year’s wrapper with you guys, too!
Show your kids teachers that they are appreciated. They work hard and have a huge impact on our children’s lives. My mum is a retired teacher as are my in-laws so I know first hand how hard teachers work. So, to all the teachers out there, I want to say: Maholo for all that you do!

To download the free chocolate bar wrapper and the coordinating hang tags, simply go to Script.com! For printing, I recommend using bright white card stock (110 lb is great) and a laser jet printer. If you don’t have a decent printer at home, head over to any print/copy center (such as Office Depot or Staples) and print there. They’ll print these for you on cardstock for about 70 cents. I used Hershey Cookies and Cream chocolate bar but you can use the regular 1.55 ounce sized Hershey bars if you’d prefer. For full details on putting chocolate bar wrappers together, please see my tutorial. I included two hang tag designs so you can choose which one you’d like to use. Once your child writes his or her name on the hang tag, simply attach to your chocolate bar using some ribbon or tulle.

I think personalized chocolate bar wrappers are the perfect party favor, especially for a child’s birthday or a baby shower. Check out the wrappers available in my Etsy store and if you don’t see what you are looking for, then contact me as I love custom work!
Let me know if you give these to your kids teachers… and don’t forget to LIKE my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/apartystudio
And thank you Dory for the inspiration!
