FREE Printables for Teacher Appreciation Week May 6, 2014

Image

Looking for a little something to show your child’s teacher that you appreciate their dedication and hard work? Well, it is teacher appreciation week so this is a great time to send in a gift with your child. I made these chocolate bar wrappers with matching water bottle wrapper and oversized hang tag for my children’s teachers. I decided to go with a more gender neutral color palette this year and used blue and burn orange with a rock star theme. The PDF files are available for FREE download. Click on here to download the PDF files:

Mahalo! FREE chocolate bar wrappers for Teacher Appreciation Day April 30, 2012

Teacher Appreciation Day in the U.S. is celebrated on the first Tuesday of the first full week in May. In 1985, The National PTA established Teacher Appreciation Week as the first full week of May. So, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7th-11th and Teacher Appreciation Day is Tuesday, May 8th. Last year I created a chocolate bar wrapper for my daughter’s preschool teachers. It was bright, fun and gender neutral but aimed at the preschool crowd. This year, my good friend Dory asked me about making a Hawaiian themed chocolate bar wrapper. What a great idea and I am happy to share this year’s wrapper with you guys, too!

Show your kids teachers that they are appreciated. They work hard and have a huge impact on our children’s lives. My mum is a retired teacher as are my in-laws so I know first hand how hard teachers work. So, to all the teachers out there, I want to say: Maholo for all that you do!

To download the free chocolate bar wrapper and the coordinating hang tags, simply go to Script.com! For printing, I recommend using bright white card stock (110 lb is great) and a laser jet printer. If you don’t have a decent printer at home, head over to any print/copy center (such as Office Depot or Staples) and print there. They’ll print these for you on cardstock for about 70 cents. I used Hershey Cookies and Cream chocolate bar but you can use the regular 1.55 ounce sized Hershey bars if you’d prefer. For full details on putting chocolate bar wrappers together, please see my tutorial. I included two hang tag designs so you can choose which one you’d like to use. Once your child writes his or her name on the hang tag, simply attach to your chocolate bar using some ribbon or tulle.

If you are looking for my preschool wrapper from last year, you can download it here:

I think personalized chocolate bar wrappers are the perfect party favor, especially for a child’s birthday or a baby shower. Check out the wrappers available in my Etsy store and if you don’t see what you are looking for, then contact me as I love custom work!

Let me know if you give these to your kids teachers… and don’t forget to LIKE my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/apartystudio

And thank you Dory for the inspiration!

Don’t forget those birthdays! July 26, 2011

Back in 1995 my cousin Alexis gave me a Birthday Book from the British store, Marks and Spenser. This book had no year printed on it, just days of the month, ready for you to enter people’s birthdays. Believe it or not, 16 years later, I still have this book.  I also use a birthday reminder service from Birthday Alarm. So, you’d think I’d never miss a birthday… well, all I can say is that I try to remember and I try to send out a card, make a phone call or send an e-mail.

Anyways, when I saw this gorgeous free printable on line, I had to share it with you guys! Here is a really pretty Birthday Calendar, ready for you to print, cut and clip together. It’s small size makes it perfect for an office notice board or desk drawer. Thank you so much to the Elephantshoe Stationery Studios and the Pretty Blog for bringing us this DIY Birthday Calendar. If you’ve never looked at their blog, go check it out- their work is amazing.

Here are the photos, straight from their blog. The printable is available here.

Of course, I couldn’t post this without having printed off their calendar and putting it together. Here is the one I printed, ready for me to add birthdays! Isn’t it cute? I think this would make a very thoughtful gift for Mother’s Day… just fill in all the family birthdays before adding a bit of ribbon.

And, here is my 16 year old book from M&S…

Teacher Appreciation Week and FREE Printable May 3, 2011

It is Teacher Appreciation Week here in Rhode Island. My 3 year old has three incredible teachers at her preschool! She adores each of them so we wanted to take a little something sweet to say thank you for all their hard work and thoughtfulness throughout the year.

We decided that handmade twirlable pinwheels with a handwritten thank you label would be perfect!

These pinwheels really do spin!

We also made chocolate wrappers to say thanks. I printed them out and wrapped them around a Hershey chocolate bar.
